Displaying Finance (G/L) information in SAP S/4HANA

SAP Fiori is flexible and allows you to move easily from one app to another; for example, when reviewing financial data. If you are looking at the Trial Balance app, for instance, and the balance of one G/L account seems unusually high, you can navigate directly to that amount in the Line Items app, and from there to specific journals to investigate further. The overview apps show various links and KPIs, and again you can drill down to the detail. Data is presented in many ways; in tables, charts, flow charts, T-Accounts, and multi-dimensional reports. You can view the data itself, make comparisons, check for duplicates, view changes to the data, check exchange rates, and account determination, etc. In this article, I explain how to move around between different apps, and which apps are best to find certain information. I talk about how to save variants, how to sort, filter, and group data, what document splitting is, and how to identify different types of postings such as cross-company code journals and parked documents. As usual, I provide tips along the way.
